Top Travel and Local Apps Performance in Madagascar, Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the travel and local app landscape in Madagascar saw varying trends in downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Airbnb experienced a fluctuating download trend, beginning at around 2.5K downloads per week in early July, peaking at over 3.1K in August, and then gradually declining to approximately 2K by the end of September. The app maintained a consistent user base, with weekly active users starting at 10.6K and reaching 12.3K by the end of the quarter.

Google Maps showed a relatively stable download pattern, with weekly downloads ranging from 650 to just over 1K. Active users demonstrated a steady increase, starting at 22.1K at the beginning of July and climbing to 24.8K by the end of September.

The Find my phone・Location tracker app saw a significant initial surge in downloads from 50 to over 1.1K in early August, followed by a decline to just under 200 by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, increasing from 10 to 814 in early August and then decreasing to 411 by late September.

Trip.com: Book Flights, Hotels witnessed a notable growth in downloads, starting from below 100 in early July and reaching 697 by the end of September. The app's active users also increased, growing from 710 to over 1.6K throughout the quarter.

Finally, Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained a moderate download rate, fluctuating between 300 and 480 weekly downloads. Active users showed some variability, starting at 7.3K, peaking at 8.6K in late July, and ending the quarter at 8.1K.
